A container train from Chinese Xian with goods destined for European countries arrived in Danube Streda (Slovakia). The train departed on September 15 from Xian (Hsinchu departure station), on September 19, proceeded to Kazakhstan through the Khorgos / Altynkol border crossing, on September 25, entered the territory of Russia, two days later crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border and arrived on September 29 in Slovakia.
The next day, September 30, at the Dobra terminal, the containers were reloaded for shipment on narrow gauge cars to Danube Streda. There, the goods (household appliances, clothing, auto parts, etc.) will be disbanded at the addresses of the recipients in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
The return train from Budapest via Dobra to China is scheduled for October 7. Thus, sets of wagons will be used in a round trip, which significantly increases the economic efficiency of the route.
“This is a test container train sent by TransContainer PJSC on this route from China to Europe via the Dobra terminal in Slovakia. Based on the results of our subsequent negotiations with partners in China, a decision will be made regarding the future prospects of running the service on a regular basis. Indicators of the passage of the test train along the entire delivery route and the support of our partners in the China-Europe space already indicate the high interest of the parties and the market need for this alternative container service. ”Says Pavel Shanaytsa, Managing Director of TransContainer Europe.
